Can't find why my spreadsheet doesn't calculate

Hi,
When I open my spreadsheet I have a calculate message which appears on the status bar. My file is set to auto calc, so I can't figure out what is causing this? I don't get a circular reference or anything like that. I can't manully calculate the spreadsheet either. Is there any way to find out what is not calculating?

Excel Facts

Copy PDF to Excel
Select data in PDF. Paste to Microsoft Word. Copy from Word and paste to Excel.
Hello: Gman43

Some things to check

--Is the problem only in this worksheet?
--Did you invoke the circular reference request to check if you have one?
--Are there any references outside this workbook? Possibly another file being open by another network user?
--Do you have any macros running that may be hung up?

I'll try to think of some others...

Thanks for the tips plettieri. Didn't seem to find anything that worked. The calculate problem is only for this spreadsheet, but exsits for all the worksheets within. I can't even pinpoint which worksheet it is. This spreadsheet does reference other spreadsheets, but none of them are being shared. My macros all look okay.

maybe to narrow it down....try copying one worksheet in to fresh workbook, one worksheet at a time to see which one might be causing the problem...

I have had that same problem on our network at the office but as soon as I saved it to my hard drive everything calculated. I think it is a memory issue.
