Hello,

What a frustrating day! My hard drive died, I had to re-format / re-setup all my files and macros, and now a macro that has created email for years doesn't want to play ball.

With the code: Set otlapp = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")

It sends the error message: "ActiveX component can't create object."

Any ideas?

I'm running Excel 2010.

Excel Facts

How to total the visible cells?
From the first blank cell below a filtered data set, press Alt+=. Instead of SUM, you will get SUBTOTAL(9,)

You have posted this in the 'Test Here' forum. Just checking whether it really is a test or whether you may have accidentally posted in the wrong forum?

If it is the wrong forum either re-post in the correct forum or post back here and a Moderator can move this thread for you.

Oh boy! It's 3:45am here, and I'm getting a little wonky I guess. I thought I had the right place, but with losing all my settings, I feel lost.

How do I post it in the right place?

Thanks for your help,

~ Doug

I have now moved this one for you (I gather this is an Excel macro you are asking about) but the process is

1. Go to the main Forum Index

2. Click on the appropriate forum name (eg Excel Questions). There is a brief description under each forum name to help you choose the right one.

3. In that forum click a 'New Thread' button (there is one at the top left and bottom left of the page).

Having said all that, you must know it already since you have started heaps of threads before.

You're a good man, Peter! Thanks.

Actually, I guess I must have stumbled upon the right way to do it a couple of years ago, and just saved and re-used the link.

Never hurts to learn the correct way to do things either I guess!

Have a great day now,

~ Doug
