Can't insert chart in Excel 10

Hi all,

I am unable to insert a chart in my workbook. The sub-menus under Insert are greyed out for Illustrations and Charts. I copy/pasted my data into a new workbook and I was able to insert a chart. Is there a reason this might happen?

Is the sheet protected? Check on the Review tab.

I checked that, it is not protected. all cells are unlocked, etc.

Other suggestions?
