I am using a web based trade application to export to a CSV file. When I click export and save as, I enter the file name. When I open Excel I can't see the file. I re-open the trade app, hit save-as and the file is there. I click over write, reopen excel and it is still not there. I have tried to search for the file and it can't be found. I have verified there are no hidden files and that it was saved with csv extension.
Any suggestions.

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.

are you able to view, system / hidden files

if you save it to your desktop, can you find it then

when i go to open file type, csv isn't in the default microsoft excel list, is set further down in text files

The file appears to not be there. I switched where I save it to, when different folders to even on the desktop. I don't see it on my desktop and Windows can't find it in a search.
But if I do another export, click save as, it sees the file. As if it is stuck in a cache file or something.

When you try to open a file in Excel, it only presents you with Excel-type files.

There's a drop-down in the File Open dialog box to allow you to browse other file types: pick CSV.

Thanks, I understand the drop down box.
The only time I see the file is when I click export on the Web Based Program, I can see it. I can click Save As a second or third time and I can see it.
If I search for the file I can't see it. If I know where I saved it and go to that directoy I can't see it. If I save it to the desktop, I can't see it. If I open excel and use the drop down, I can't see the file.
