hi

=If(A1=colorindex="6","true","false")

Check how to code the above code properly?

Excel Facts

How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.
Perhaps

Code:
Function iscol6(r As Range) As Boolean
iscol6 = r.Interior.ColorIndex = 6
End Function

in a regular module. Then on the sheet

=iscolor6(A1)

If you want to check the font instead of the fill change Interior to Font.

hi VoG, I tried but is not working. It display "#name?". Can make it if cell colorindex=6 display "1" or else display "0". I also find the formula cannot be drag to next lower cells. "+" drag it down to the rest of the cells..

Try

Code:
Function iscol6(r As Range) As Integer
Select Case r.Interior.ColorIndex
    Case 6: iscol6 = 1
    Case Else: iscol6 = 0
End Select
End Function

This worked for me when I dragged it down a column.
