Hi,

I have a book with 2 sheets. Let's say i want to reference cell A1 from sheet 1, and display its value in cell B2 on sheet 2.

(i.e. B2=Sheet1!A1)

The problem is...
In the event that cell A1 has no value entered in it, cell B2 will display the number zero.

I would like cell B2 to remain empty if A1 has no value.

Any thoughts?

Thank you

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).

Hi there,

Do you want it to be empty, or just appear empty? The choice determines whether you need a formula call or a custom format. They both have their pros and cons. I prefer the format method, but many prefer the formula. The format takes a bit more of a keen eye, as the value of 0 would still be there, just not appear there.

Formula:
=IF(Sheet1!A1="","",Sheet1!A1)

Format:
;;;
