Hey there.

Done the search of posts, but found nowt.

Simple question:
I want to delete a bunch of stuff from a workbook.
Mostly rows of data - NOT THE ENTIRE ROW.
Lets say row 15, column E to CK
So I highlight these cells and hit delete.
Now I want to delete the same columns in row 18....
So I have to select cell E18 and then run the mouse all the way to the right, hoping to stop on column CK. I hit delete and then move on to the next row, lets say its row 27...same again, select E27, run across to CK27, hit delete.

Is there a way for me to keep the original cell selection (E15:CK15) and just 'move' it down the sheet, rather than having to keep selecting (i.e. dragging) all the cells in a row time after time?

I don't want a code (although it would be great), I just wondered if there was a keyboard short cut.

Thanks in advance...

Excel Facts

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
Try clicking the black rectangle with your left mouse button and drag it from your row 15 to row 18...that works for most people

roaze2000 - thanks, but you misunderstand.
Grabbin the black rectangle copies the contents. Not what I want.

Imagine, for whatever reason, you select cells that form the shape of an L.

Now you want to repeat (i.e. move) that L shape selection somewhere else on your work sheet. Only move the shape - NOT copy the contents.

It's just that I have a load of rows to empty of data.
The same 'AREA' of cells, but in different positions across the worksheet.
So, how can I create an AREA 'MASK' of a bunch of cells that I can easily move around the screen.

I figured there maybe a way, like holding Ctrl+Shft+PageUp+TAB+F4 so that you could drag your selection shape of cells to other areas of the sheet.

Any better?
