HI,
I am using Excel 2010. I have a 12 item drop-down list and another cell that displays the results from calculations performed for the selected item from the list. I want the final results to be auto displayed next to the corresponding item in the drop-down list?
For example;
Cell C11 is the drop-down list.
Cell E11 is the results of the calculations.
G7 through G18 is the 12 items in the list.
When I select 1 of the 12 items and perform the calculations, I want the final results to be displayed by the correct item.
What formula do I need to do next to G7 through G18 for that to happen?
Thanks

How to calculate loan payments in Excel?
Use the PMT function: =PMT(5%/12,60,-25000) is for a $25,000 loan, 5% annual interest, 60 month loan.
Hi, welcome to the board.

I'm not sure what you mean.

Let's simplify, and say you have 3 items (not 12), called A, B, and C.

So G7:G9 contains A, B, C.
And you select, say, B in cell C11.
Are you saying you want, in H8, the result of the formula in E11 ?
And H7 and H9 remain blank ?

Now that I got the data to display in the correct spot.
How do I save it so that when I select a different list the value does not follow?

Hi Gerald,
I got the formula to work exactly the way I want it. Now my question is how to save that data in the cell?
For example: (from your post)
Let's simplify, and say you have 3 items (not 12), called A, B, and C.

So G7:G9 contains A, B, C.
And you select, say, B in cell C11.
Are you saying you want, in H8, the result of the formula in E11 ?
And H7 and H9 remain blank ?

Now that the result is in H8, how do I save it in that cell?
As it is right now when I select another item from the list (lets say A) the results will move from H8 to H7.
I what the results to stay in H8 and when I select A, from the list, H7 will display the results for A. I should have results displayed for both H7 and H8.
Hope this helps?

Thanks

Well you can convert the formula result to a fixed value, by using Copy / Paste Special / Values.

But this will remove the formula.
