Change How Formatting Palette Exits

Re: Excel 2004 for Mac.

When I open and close the formatting palette, the palette itself "swoops" when it opens and closes.

I would like to change how the formatting palette opens and closes, so that it merely "cuts" open and closed.

How can this be done?
