I have a .xlsx file with about 35 tabs. Each tab has about 2000 cells, the vast majority have formulas pulling data from numerous other .xlsx files. There are only 12 cells that are unique to each of my tabs. These 12 cells are what identifies and pulls data from the other .xlsx files. Aside from these 12 cells, the others are identical across all tabs.

From time to time, I need to make a change to one of the formulas on all the tabs. I'd like to find a way to have a master tab that includes all the up to date formulas, created in a way so that if I changed a formula on it, it would change the formula on all the other tabs. Is this possible? If so, how?

Thanks in advance.

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
can you setup the 12 formulas in the special sheet
then reference that cell from the other sheets

so if you had say
=COUNTA(C1:C9)
on sheet "special" cell A2
and wanted to change to countif(c1:c9,sheet1!f9)
then on special A2 you did the change

But you would have on one of the 12 tabs - a reference to that cell
=Special!A2

or INDIRECT("Special!A2")

or have i oversimplified it
