Hi,
I have a set of data in single column like in A1, 23e1, A2-b156, A3 -c53d etc etc. around 40,000 data in that column

I want to check if any number is repeated or not...how to check it using any formula?

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
Is this what your data looks like?

<b>Excel 2003</b><table cellpadding="2.5px" rules="all" style=";background-color: #FFFFFF;border: 1px solid;border-collapse: collapse; border-color: #A6AAB6"><colgroup><col width="25px" style="background-color: #E0E0F0" /><col /></colgroup><thead><tr style=" background-color: #E0E0F0;text-align: center;color: #161120"><th></th><th>A</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr ><td style="color: #161120;text-align: center;">1</td><td style="text-align: right;;">23e1</td></tr><tr ><td style="color: #161120;text-align: center;">2</td><td style=";">b156</td></tr><tr ><td style="color: #161120;text-align: center;">3</td><td style=";">c53d</td></tr></tbody></table><p style="width:3.6em;font-weight:bold;margin:0;padding:0.2em 0.6em 0.2em 0.5em;border: 1px solid #A6AAB6;border-top:none;text-align: center;background-color: #E0E0F0;color: #161120">Sheet1</p><br /><br />

Also, could you please provide a bit wider scope of your data and show us your desired outcome?

I tried countif, but it is not showing correct result...It shows more than 2 even if it is not repeated. The problem is data is alpha-numeric so countif is not good...Is there any other way? I know one of my admin used to paint color and do something to find out repetiton in such cases...I don't know how though..
