Checkbox to 'preset comment' in another cell

Is it possible to have a spreadsheet where you can click a checkbox and that checkbox can populate another cell with a comment.

As an example it is for a marking sheet where i can click several checkboxes for criteria and have a comment box auto populate based on the check boxes selected?

Insert a Check Box (ActiveX Control) with something like this:

Private Sub CheckBox1_Click()

    Dim rng As Range
    Dim str As String
    Dim com As Comment
    
    Set rng = Me.Range("A1")   'cell to add comment to
    str = "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog." 'text for comment
    
    'clear existing comment

Im on a mac and cant seem to find the option to add an active x checkbox? I have added the developer tools to the ribbon but cant see active x checkbox?

Developer --> Controls --> Insert --> ActiveX Controls --> Check Box.

If it's not there on mac, you could assign the macro to a form control check box instead...
