When I use File>Print_Area> Clear Print Area, then dotted lines appear , which seem to show where the default page boundaries would be. Is there any way I can remove these so that the sheet looks just as it does when you insert a new worksheet (ie no dotted lines)? (Excel 2003)

How can you turn a range sideways?
Copy the range. Select a blank cell. Right-click, Paste Special, then choose Transpose.
Interestingly (well may be): in VB EDitor object browser

Worksheet.DisplayAutomaticPageBreaks

is not documented but

Worksheet.DisplayPageBreaks

is documented.
