Closeing an Excel Spread sheet

Hi I have a macro that auto closes a spread sheet with the: -

Workbooks("name.csv").close

Command to close it, I then have a batch file that starts the same spreadsheet again a few minutes later.

A couple of times now the spreadsheet hasn’t closed properly and although it doesn't appear on the screen the excel.exe process in task manager is still running. Is there a better way to shut excel down through a macro so it is more reliable?

Thanks
