I have been using this code which is taking too long time while applying and the active sheet has maximum 15 columns and 400 rows.

VBA Code:
Dim x As Integer
For x = 1 To ActiveSheet.UsedRange.Columns.Count
Columns(x).EntireColumn.NumberFormat = "General"
Columns(x).Value = Columns(x).Value
Columns(x).EntireColumn.AutoFit
Next x

Excel Facts

Wildcard in VLOOKUP
Use =VLOOKUP("Apple*" to find apple, Apple, or applesauce
No need for the loop, just use
VBA Code:
With ActiveSheet.UsedRange
   .NumberFormat = "General"
   .Value = .Value
   .EntireColumn.AutoFit
End With
