Column width bug?

I have a macro that copies data based on certain criteria into a new workbook and saves that workbook.

No problem, it works.....but when I open the workbook, highlight all cells and double click to auto-adjust the column widths, nothing happens!

It's totally bizarre, is this a bug or is there a setting somewhere that has "locked" the column widths?

It's Excel XP.

Shade all formula cells
To shade all formula cells: Home, Find & Select, Formulas to select all formulas. Then apply a light fill color.
If the sheet isn't protected, as Peter suggests, maybe you could post the code ?

Is the sheet protected?

No.

But I'm wondering if it's anything to do with the fact that the data in the original sheet is fed from an Access database? Each month, the database is updated and all I have to do is go into my spreadsheet, right-click and select "Refresh Data".

When I've done similar stuff in the past, I've always used Paste Special - I see from looking at my code that, for some reason, this time I only used Paste.

Any thoughts?

Not a Access expert, but in my experience anytime I've pasted from Access it has brought the formatting across with it.
I'd suggest, without seeing the code, you may have to incorporate some column formatting in as well.
