Hi, can someone please help me with this problem I have a table with column headings A to H and row headings Task 1 to Task 5, with a value ascribed to each cell. I have transposed the column headings from this table into a new table, and I now want to calculate certain values from the first table into the new table. In each case the formula is the same only the column reference changes. I have tried absolute cell references and it doesnt work. Is there a simpler way than entering a new formula every time to accomodate the changing column reference?

Use Google or Excel help and take a look at INDEX and MATCH in the help file. Can't give a more precise answer since you haven't posted a sample of your data.
