Hi,

I need to consolidate a fairly large spreadsheet (105x4315). ID#s (column A) can be repeated any number of times but each time they are repeated, there is a separate set of columns. I need each ID# to have its own row and I need the columns to remain but I need the values to be in the appropriate row. Thanks in advance for your help. It is much appreciated!

Excel Facts

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
Would a pivot table work for you? Your descrition/problem is pretty vague. Can you give examples of how the data is layout and examples of the results you are looking for.

I was under the impression that my database was too big for a pivot table. I need every column and every row to stay.

edit: example i wrote in didn't work

Thanks,
Tyler

edit 2:

What I have:

ID_A _B__C _D
1__X_Y
2__Z_X
3________Y_Z
1________X_Y
3__X_Z

What I need:

ID_A__B__C__D
1__X__Y__X__Y
2__Z__X
3__X__Z__Y__Z
