combobox: data validation

is it possible to set up a combobox or data validation so that say , if i select a certain product in my list, this will happen:

select cat from list formula in d5 is c5*1.5
select rat from list formula in d5 is c5/1.4
select hat from list formula in d5 is c5+3.6

there would be many items in the list and many different formulas.... much more complicated than these but this is a baasic example

Make a table with your select value and calculation, then use a vlookup referenced on your select value.
