Combobox error

I have a workbook originally authored in Excel 2000 that has a combo box that references a single-column, explicitly specified range on another worksheet in the same workbook and just places the list index into a cell - nothing remotely fancy, no linked macros. This same workbook functions without problem in Excel 2000, 2003, and 2007. However, Excel 2010 (I installed the 64-bit) gives me the error "Not enough system resources to display completely". I have read threads here and in other forums which explain this as not being able to cache all of the information I'm trying to work with. Seriously, all this combo box does is return the item number to a cell. Interestingly enough, I can copy the combobox to another worksheet in the same workbook and it works without throwing the error. Also, It always gives that error whenever I first open the workbook, and after clicking OK, works just fine with everything displayed. Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks,

Kurt
