Hi,

I have a user form with a combo box with a named ranged for drop down options. I want a message box to appear if "texthere" is selected.
I have tried the following with no luck

If cbo.text = "texthere" then MsgBox "you have entered "texthere"

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
Please show the entire sub that contains this line of code. It should be something like this:

VBA Code:
Private Sub cob_Change()
   If cbo.text = "texthere" Then MsgBox "you have entered "texthere"
End Sub

VBA Code:
If cbo.text = "texthere" then MsgBox "you have entered " & cbo.text

Hi sorry i didn't post the full code. None of the above codes work however.

The combo box is used from a named range - the text is not entered but the user will use the combobox to make a selection. If the user selects a particular option in that combo box a message box needs to appear to warn them about parameters around their selection??

That's exactly what these solutions do (aside from the typo in my code that was copied from the typo in your code).

You need to post all your code to get a better answer. I am not sure why you apologized for not posting it instead of just posting it. Ideally you would put your file on a cloud service and share it here.
