Hello,

Has anybody come across a software which you can copy two blocks of text strings and identify differences between them?

Hi Andy,

Have you tried Word's 'Compare and merge Documents' feature? See under Word's 'Tools' menu.

I can remember a DOS-based program called COMPARE.COM from many years ago, (authored by Michael Mefford?). A code listing for it appeared in a PC magazine back in the 1980s.

macropod.. i dont want to compare documents... i just want to compare two text strings, as fast as possible.. i guess a macro could be done in excel but highlighting the differences within the cell could be tricky..
