Is there a simple code to get VBA/Macro to check a column of data with data on another sheet/workbook and get it to fill in missing data?

Basicaly I want to quickly enter an x into a column, but not all rows need the data entering, some need to stay blank. The data is also many rows apart in some places so the simple Copy/Paste isn't going to work.

I know how to get it to check a specific entry and do an update at the click of a button, but only on the same sheet and I want it to do it on a different sheet and multiples.
