Comparing two columns

Hi,

I am comparing two columns to see that the data matches.

I am using the formula =IF(A1=B1, " ", "N")

It works for most of the column but for some reason on certain rows it is throwing up a "N" when the columns clearly match.

I have checked the formula and it is copied correctly in all the cells.

Any suggestions.

Hi blackboxsters,

There might be extra blank characters in some of the cells. You could try this formula instead:

=IF(TRIM(A1)=TRIM(B1), " ", "N")
