Comparing two sheets of data - where the KEY has mulitple entries

Hi All,

I've become stuck in my efforts to compare data from two spreadsheets and have had no luck finding online.
Basically, on each sheet of data I want to look to compare the data in column A from Sheet1 vs Sheet2, and where differences occur - provide the values (i.e. sum) between the corresponding columns B and C.

The problem is complicated by the fact that the KEY identifier in Col A may be included in several records in either, or both, sheets, meaning a normal VLOOKUP isn't doing the job. So far my workaround is pivot both sets of data seperately, and then use the sum function to find the value of difference in column B or C. Not ideal, and a bit fiddly when trying to drill down to the root caues of the difference (within other data on the same row)

The below shows an example of how the data looks in simplistic form - where the highlighted cells show the 'data differences' that I effectively need to extract. So, for identifer AAAAA, the sum of cols B and C in Sheet2 are in line with Sheet1 - all is good. For identifer BBBBB, there is a difference in the value of col C between sheets, so this needs to be highlighted/extracted/easily visible.

Thought about that, but won't SUMIF fall down due to neither sheet only having a single occurance of the key identifier?

i.e. in the below, using SUMIF for my Sheet1 data would bring up a duplicated result for the identifier 'EEEEE' wouldn't it?
