Comparing two sheets

Hi Guys

I have been trying to use the match function but I dont think i am using it correctly.

i have 2 sheets, column A has surnames going down. in sheet 2, i have the same layout with surnames going down. I am trying to compare if surnames in sheet 2 are the same as sheet 1.

so next to each name, it says either true or false. so far no luck though. am i using the incorrect function maybe?

any help would be appreciated
