Hi Guys

If I have two columns
Columns A contains 4 amounts
Column B contains 12 amounts
They both total the same
I need to figure out which ones in column B match up to which totals in Column A
Obviously I'm dealing with many more in each column, some are just two items matching a figure in A whilst others could be five items & they're often mixed up.
The colours are just to show what I'm needing but if a formula could return colours that would be awesome!
Can anybody help?

Excel Facts

Round to nearest half hour?
Use =MROUND(A2,"0:30") to round to nearest half hour. Use =CEILING(A2,"0:30") to round to next half hour.
For a large number this will be unpractical.
Because you have to test 2^n posibilities. With n being the number of individual values you have in column C.
For different number you have:

Number n2^n
532
664
7128
8256
9512
101.024
201.048.576
301.073.741.824
401.099.511.627.776
501.125.899.906.842.620

So you can see that the different combinations to test on a larger number is too big.

Maybe you could do it with VBA, but i guess it will take a really long time with a large number of values.

@Kerstin
For the future, please only mark a post as the solution if it does actually contain the solution to your question.
Clearly post #4 does not so I have removed the mark from that post.
