Compatability Pack fo the 2007 Office System

I have excel 2003. I downloaded the 2007 Pack on my laptop in order to open a excel 2007 file. It worked fine. I got a new computer and coppied my files to it. I dowloaded the 2007 Pack on my new conputer. It won't open the file. The message I get is "This file is not in a recognizable format. I can't understand why it opens on one computer and not the other.

Please advise me on how I can open the file on my new conputer.

Check that the compatibility pack has installed correctly:

I downloaded the compatabiliy pack again and installed it. Everything worked fine after doing that.
