Hi all,

I am having some problems with the concatenate formula.

I have cell A1 which for example has the following text 'Financial Reporting as at'
and cell A2 which has a date e.g. 31.12.2016.. which is in the following format 31 December 2016

I am finding a problem since when I try to concatenate the two values, the result is getting 'Financial Reporting as at 23456'.

Is there a work around so as the date will remain in its format?

Appreciate a lot your kind help

Thanks

Keibri

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.

Try this...
="Financial Reporting as at"&text(A2,"dd.mm.yyyy")

The number you are seeing is what a date would look like if it was not formatted as a date
