concatenate problem

can't for the life of me figure out why this concatenate won't work:

i've used that exact syntax in another workbook and it was fine, but here it doesn't seem to return what I would think it would.

i've tried both general and text format, out of desperation, and of course that didn't do anything.

Any ideas where this is going wrong?

Column G is probably formated as Text.

Find a column (to the right of all your data) that is formated as General (or from another spreadsheet), and copy that column onto colum G. Then re-enter your formula in cell G2, and re-enter into cell G1 'HHF_KEY'.

edit-clar-all on the cell. now again type the concataenation.
or alternately type in anoher empty cell.

Format that column as General.
Select that column, do a find and replace,
In find what, put =
In Replace with, put =
Click on Replace All
