HI,

Is there a way to use condittional formating to enter a text string into a cell.

In the cell I want "Enter value" to appear. If a value is entered the "Enter value is replaced with the information they enter and if they delete their input then "Enter value would re appear.

Thank you

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
The answer to your question is No -- Conditional Formatting would not accomplish that. Neither would a formula. You would need VBA for a change event to monitor that cell and change its string based on the actions you describe. If that is acceptable to you, you may want to post back with specific details about what cell(s) are involved and anything else someone should know in order to suggest a code solution you could actually use.
