In cell D5 I have "Error - cell value does not agree with input figure". I would like a conditional format in cell G23 so that it looks for the first five letters of D5 and if they are "Error" then for cell G23 to be highlighted.

Can anyone assist?

Hi,

In G23 type this into the conditional formatting screen:

Formula is: =IF(LEFT(D5,5)="Error",1,0)
