hi folks,

I've got a problem with some databases in which we use at work. we use a 3 colour scheme through conditional formatting to determine how good employee performance is on daily/weekly/yearly basis. at the moment the cells in which i have conditionally formatted are set at; if cell is between x and y, if cell is equal or greater then x.. etc.. etc. the problem i have now is that i need to alter these figures for the arguments in conditional formatting. this in fact is gonna take me ages.

all i want to know is if there is any chance that if i was to set some cells with certain values, could i use these to alter my arguments in conditional formatting?? what i was hoping to be possible was to have arguments/formulas for e.g.

1. cell is ="=>A1"
2. cell is =AND(<A1,><A1,>=90%A1)
3. cell is =AND(>0.01,<90%A1)

basically i'm just after a way of changing my arguements of conditional formatting by changing certain cell values so i can save myself a lot of time in the near future.

regards,

Steve

How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney

You should be able to do this if you use the formula option to set the formatting.

You haven't provided enough detail to make a more specific suggestion.
