Hi,

I forgot how to do this but i want to conditionally format two columns AC and AE so compare if they do not match i want it to be red and if they match green. how can i do this.
any ideas??

Excel Facts

Difference between two dates
Secret function! Use =DATEDIF(A2,B2,"Y")&" years"&=DATEDIF(A2,B2,"YM")&" months"&=DATEDIF(A2,B2,"MD")&" days"
Select both column AC and AE:

Conditional Formatting > New Rule > Use a formula to determine which cells to format

Then for the formula, enter:
=$AC1 = $AE1

And choose the formatting color green.

For red, do the same but with the formula
=$AC1 <> $AE1

It doesn't matter that the two columns are not adjacent.

If you select column AC:AC and AE:AE, conditional formatting has to refer to $AC1 and $AE1. If you apply conditional formatting only to the relevant cells, for example $AC$2:$AC$10 and $AE$2:$AE$10, you have to refer to the topmost cell in this range. In this example it's $AC2 and $AE2.

Also bear in mind the location of the dollar signs.

Hello, I am trying to conditional format in google sheets to make a row red only when the data in Column A (order #) and Column F (Material #) are the same like as follows. Any thought?

Order # Material #
12345 RG-5433
12345 RG-5433

12345 AH-3437
11111 AH-3437
