Conditional formatting dates

I need to do a conditional format on a date.

I have follwed this article which does do as it I want...

...however some of the cells that I want to apply the conditional formatting to are blank but they could have a date.

Is there a way i can apply the conditional format only if the cell is not blank?

Just add a second condition in your formula (using the AND function) that checks to see if there is an entry, i.e. if checking cell A1, then:

[B]=and([/B][I][COLOR=blue]your condition here[/COLOR][/I],[B]len(a1)>0)[/B]
