Conditional Formatting for Negative Text Cells

Hiya all,

I have a column of cells that have some negative numbers though the are formatted in the TEXT format of H:MM to enable me to extrapolate negative times. Now I would like to make the negative text a different color but conditional formatting doesn't do this. Help please!

=LEFT(C2,1)="-"

As a Conditional Formatting formula, and format as desired.
