Hi,

I have Excel 2007 and am trying to create a formula in a cell that will change color depending the on the value of another cell. So right now I just have something like this in one of the cells:

=$H$7="DIALTONE"

So basically the above formula was written in cell G6 and if cell H7 contains the word "Dialtone" the cell G6 changes to the color Red.

What I need is a formula that will change different colors depending on the word in H7. So if the word in cell H7 is "Intercom" then G6 will change to blue, or if it's "Speed Dial" G6 changes to Orange and so on... Can anyone provide any advice?

When did Power Query debut in Excel?
Although it was an add-in in Excel 2010 & Excel 2013, Power Query became a part of Excel in 2016, in Data, Get & Transform Data.
It's not the formula it's the conditional formatting itself, in xl2007 you can have many Conditional format conditions, just add a different one for each word change.

I presume you mean that formula is written in the conditional formatting box attached to G6, rather than directly into G6.

when you have CF open, there's an option to ADD. You can then type a similar formula and choose your format for the others.

I don't have 2007, so not sure how many conditions you're allowed. It's only 3 in XL 2003.
