Hi,

I would like to change the colour of a cell in my spreadsheet according to what is another cell.

i.e I would like M7 to turn Green when the word 'Received' is put into L7.

I can make it change if I substitute the word 'Received' with say the No.5. I just cant work out what formula I need to put in to recognise the word 'Received', or any other word for that matter.

Any one got any ideas?

How to show all formulas in Excel?
Press Ctrl+` to show all formulas. Press it again to toggle back to numbers. The grave accent is often under the tilde on US keyboards.
Thank you very much, that worked a treat.

One more question . .

I have 3 cells in a row K7,L7 & M7.

What I would like to happen is M7 turns Red when the date I have in K7 is over 10 days old + when the word 'Awaiting' is in L7, So two function to happen before it turns Red (I have a drop down box in L7 with two options, 'Awaiting' and 'Received'.) But, when I turn L7 to 'Received' M7 goes to Green.

I am using the following to get the 10 day tolerance working =K7<today()-10

But thats as far as I've got. Hence the need for help.

If you are still there and not bugged by my questions.

I have cell K5, and I want it to turn Red if I5 says complete, but when J5 says Yes it turns Green. It's not working at the moment because I need a formula to say turn it red when complete, but turn Green when Yes. At the moment I think I have to contradicting conditions.

You will need to set up two CF formulas, one for each condition. The order in which you do these might be important if you want one to take precedence.
