Conditional formatting in a pivot table

I am trying to put conditional formatting into a pivot table. The problem I am having is that when the data in the pivot table is changed, the formatting stays with the cells instead of with the row category. I need the conditional formatting to stay with the data associated with the row category.

Conditional formatting cannot be properly applied to a PivotTable. See the 2nd Notes bullet in the Excel Help topic for "Change PivotTable character and cell formatting".
