Hi all,

I'm struggling to phrase a conditional formatting formula correctly and i hope someone can help.

I'd like to apply the formatting to column K based on the value on the same row in column D i.e. If D2 = "Complete" then K2 is green...

A lot of the example use a static comparison but i need it to be dynamic and per row...

Any help would be appreciated!

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
Let's say the range you want to format is K2:K100.
Then do the following:

1. Select the Range K2:K100
2. Go to Conditional Formatting and click "New Rule"
3. Select the "Use a formula to determine which cells to format" option
4. Enter the following formula:
Excel Formula:
=$D2="Complete"
5. Select your desired formatting option (green color)
6. Click "OK"
