Conditional Formatting Question

I coach cross country and I use excel to enter my athlete's times. Each new sheet is a new meet. What I want to do is highlight for each athlete (column a) there personal fastest time for 5k (column e) for the entire workbook as we continue through the season. We have only had two meets so most sheet 1 should be highlighted for their fastest times. I only know how to use conditional formatting to highlight the lowest number which happens to be my fastest athlete, but I want it to apply to all athletes throughout the entire workbook. Thanks for the help.

I would think it might be easier to do it all on one worksheet, and just use Filters to limit it to show you whatever date's results you want to view at that point in time.

Actually, all things being equal, if I were to do this project, I would elect to do it in Microsoft Access, because what you are really trying to set up is a database, and Access is a database program (where Excel really is not). Tasks like this are much easier to do in Access, provided you are familair with how to use Access.

If I were to do this in access, would I setup a form or report? Also would I still have to set up my spread sheet to have all my races on one table?

It all depends on your needs and wants. You would probably want a form for data entry. You could create a report based on a "parameter query" to get the results of each race. A parameter query will prompt your for criteria at run-time. So if you place the parameter on the race date field, when you run the report, it will ask you which date you want, and then it will return the results from that race.
Also would I still have to set up my spread sheet to have all my races on one table?
You would store all your race results in a single table.
