Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().

Not clear.

How do dates relate to what you want to do? You haven't explained that.

Is there a formula in B3 that returns TRUE or FALSE?

in conditional formatting to get the color code do I put in =a1
OK, let's try this...

You said there is a start date in cell A1 and today's date in cell E1.

Cell B3 contains this formula: =A1

You want to apply some kind of conditional formatting to cell B3. So what date does cell B3 have to contain in order for that formatting to be applied?
