Hi

I have a conditional format set in Cell "A5" as follow

Cell Value / Less Than / =AD5-(AD5*5%) - Formatted to turn cell fill color RED

The Value in "AD5" is already a negative figure (-50) but even if i make both values the same the cell is still RED.

Is it not possible t format in this way when dealing with neagtive numbers? Or is my formula wrong........The formula is supposed to make Cell "A5" turn red if its own value is value is 5% less than "AD5".

Thanks

Excel Facts

Round to nearest half hour?
Use =MROUND(A2,"0:30") to round to nearest half hour. Use =CEILING(A2,"0:30") to round to next half hour.
The problem is when AD5 is negative, say -50 per your example..
-50*5% = -2.5
-50 Minus -2.5
-50--2.5
This is a double negative, becomes a +
-50+2.5 = -47.5

Try

=AD5-(ABS(AD5)*5%)
