Conditional Formula Combining Text Length of 2 Cells

Hello,
I'm sure this is an easy fix.
What I would like is to use Conditional Formatting to change the color of C2 based on the text length combination of both A2:B2 and greater than 25.

Obviously this doesn't work:
=LEN(A2:B2)>25

=LEN(A2&B2)>25

Arrrrg! Silly question, but what action did the colon cause?

Excel would only evaluate the cell to the left of the colon.
