I am working on a payroll template. I need to have O/T calculated (at a rate of 1.5x rate) for all hours over 30. How do I write this conditional formula?

Thanks!

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).

Hi - welcome to the board!

with hours in col A, & rate in D1,

=if(a1<=30,a1*d1,(30*d1)+((a1-30)*(d1*1.5)))
