Conditionally Format Every Other Day

I have been trying to get a formula to work that will color alternate colors every other day. The number of cells vary by day (i.e. may have 5 entries on monday, 2 on tuesday, and 10 on wednesday). In the conditional formatting drop down there is no option and i am stuck on writing a formula. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
