Connection Only

Hello. Can somebody tell me the difference between these queries? Why does one say one say Connection Only and the others have the number of rows loaded? I have pivot tables connected to each of these and they all seem to refresh correctly. I am not too knowledgeable in this area and am trying to recreate a file created by somebody who is no longer with our company.

Connection only means the Query is not loaded on a sheet. Likely it is being referenced in one of the others.
It is a very common practice. Or someone deleted the sheet where it was initialy loaded. Via the context menu, right mouse click, you can load it on a new sheet.

So these are all linked to an Access database. The only output I see is a pivot table. As far as functionality between the two types here, what are the differences? Can I do something with the others that I can't do with the Connection Only?

Those tables can be loaded to the data model. Your pivot is a PowerPivot, no?

No, just a regular pivot table.

But you have multiple pivots... So each query can be loaded in a pivot, each having it's own cache. You won't have a pivot with data from the connection only query.

Or the connection only is appended to another one.
