Convert Text to Dates

If I import text data can I convert date fields coming in "YYMMDD" Text format to dates after they have already been converted to a text field in Excel. I know how to convert them using the Text Import Wizard. I'd like to know how to convert them to date formats after they have already been imported as text values.

Use the Data | Text to Columns... menu command as well.
