Convert text to named range

Hi

How do I convert text to named range?

For example, I have set a named range as 'fruit'

B2= fruit

So the formula would look like vlookup(a1, namedrange(b2), xx, xx)

How do I convert B2 so that it becomes a named range rather than a text?

Please help.
