I wonder if it is possible to convert words into numbers.

I have a column with amounts in words, say seven hundred and fifty. I have to convert this into 750 in another column.
There are over four thousands of them which I have to key the actual numbers in.
The formats are like this: four thousand nine hundred and twenty-five.
three hundred and twenty five, etc. The word 'and' always follow the hundred.
Is there a quick way to convert words into number formats please? No cents involved.

Thank you for help.

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
Maybe using Edit, Find and Replace ?

Do this on a COPY of your data, so that you still have the original if this doesn't work.

Find "One", replace with 1
Find "Two", replace with 2
and so on up to 19 (I think)

Find "Twenty-", replace with 2
and so on through Thirty-, Forty-, etc.

Find "Twenty", replace with 20
and so on through Thirty-, Forty-, etc.

Find " thousand " - note the spaces - and replace with ""
Find " hundred and " - again, note the spaces - and replace with ""

Check results for any funny numbers.

Not ideal, but should need only about 40 iterations of Edit, Find and Replace (I think).

Thank you for your response. However, I am afraid that might not be the best solution.
Can a macro do the job please? I am not good in that though.
